How do I setup a new printer to work with SettsPlus?

Find out from your conveyance which printer and tray the letters and other documents eg: Landgate, disclosure documents, statements, go to.

Open SettsPlus, click on the Administration -> Select Setup(Under Lookup lists Category) -> Printer

Specify for what type of document the new printer will be used with

Specify what Bin it will be using

Adjust the margins if required

Click on Margins, specify the values in cm, and paper size.
How do I change my Printing margins?

Open SettsPlus, click on the Administration -> Select Setup(Under Lookup lists Category) -> Printer

To adjust the margins for a specific printer

Click on Margins(for that printer), specify the values in cm, and paper size then select OK.
How do I configure Word to work with SettsPlus?

Enabling macros in Word 2003 to 2007

Start Word

From the main menu select tools -> Security -> Security

Tick on the option to set security level to low

Enabling macros in Word 2007 to later

Start Word

From the main menu select File -> Options -> Trust Centre -> Trust Centre settings -> Macro settings.

Tick Enable all macros(not recommended; potentially dangerous code can run)

Setup the SettsPlus Word Toolbar

If the Add-in in Word is not showing up, you can try the following:

Open SettsPlus, click on the Details tab -> Select Word Options -> Reset Word Template
Now we need to install the template again.
Click Home -> Letters (right at the end)

A letter list will open, select ACTP1 and double click or press “Generate”

Word will open with a dialog box

? Press OK, a message will appear

? Press OK, a message will appear, press YES to finalise the installation
Recommended Anti-Virus settings

Most issues clients experience with SettsPlus are directly related to your Anti-Virus software and how it is configured.

Issues can range from not being able to connect to the Server to not being able to generate documents.

Before calling us for support, please temporarily disable (If possible) your anti-virus software and attempt to do what you were trying to do, if you can now, then the issue is related to your Anti-Virus software. Hence you should contact your IT Support to get them to have a look at the issue and correctly setup your antivirus software.

If you cannot temporarily disable your anti-virus, you will need to contact your IT Support to temporarily disable the Anti-Virus.

Your Anti-virus program if incorrectly configured can cause some of the following issues:

Generating Letters is taking too long, a downloading message keeps appearing (Cause: Files are being scanned)

      ? Opening some screens in SettsPlus takes too long (Cause: DBF Files are being scanned)

      ? Cannot connect to the server (Cause: Server Firewall)

      ? Cannot Open PDF documents in SettsPlus (Cause: Anti Virus is blocking SettViewer.exe)

      ? Cannot print cheques, not being able to communicate with Cheque server(Cause: Server Firewall)

This is a general list of how your anti-virus software should be configured:

      ? Do not scan files that are on the SettsPlus Shared network drive (Generally S:\)

      ? Do not scan DBF files that are on the SettsPlus Shared network drive (Generally S:\)

      ? Exceptions should be added for the folder C:\Program Files\Settlement and/or C:\Program Files(X86)\Settlement

      ? Exceptions should be added for the Program C:\Program Files\Settlement\SettsPlus.exe or C:\Program Files(X86)\Settlement\ SettsPlus.exe

      ? Exceptions should be added for the Program C:\Program Files\Settlement\SettViewer.exe or C:\Program Files(X86)\Settlement\ SettViewer.exe

      ? Exceptions to the server Firewall should be added for the Incoming and Outgoing ports (23165 and 23166))
